Adding Glitter!

I feel glitter is always so fun! It's beautiful and adds a nice touch to your foam creations so I figured I'd dedicate this week's post to GLITTER :) I usually buy my glitter overseas since it is a lot cheaper but you can find nice glitter at Michaels too however, it is about 3.99 per container and not too much. I am pretty sure you can find nice, inexpensive glitter on eBay or anywhere else online as well. I am sure you all remember how to apply glitter just apply some elmer's glue onto your foam (thin layer) and sprinkle on a nice coat of glitter. Then shake the foam onto a piece of paper dropping all left over glitter onto to recycle it and re-use it. Very simple. You can get really creative with glitter it honestly makes your decorations pop so much more. Your kids will absolutley love it. It gives a very nice touch. You can get very creative as I did in the pictures below. For example, with the Minnie decoration I painted on dots with acrylic paint and once it dried I apply glitter to Minnie's dress and it made it look so much prettier! I also did the same with the birthday banner for my daughter's Ariel birthday. I tried to make a sand and ocean type beach effect and placed glitter only on the bottom half of the words. Sand is pretty shiny to me so I think it looked pretty legit. Off topic in regards to foam, you can also use these on your kid's light switch plates using just modpodge (a special type of glue brand) and glitter. You apply at least two coats and coat it with modpodge and it looks amazing and your kids will love this look. Get creative with glitter and remember to always have fun!
